Questions, answered.
What is Bunker Protocol?
A proposed vault for Solana. You lock SOL in a bunker, and the only way to withdraw is a hash-based signature instead of a normal wallet signature. It's built to stay safe if quantum computers ever break today's wallet cryptography.
Is it live?
Not yet. This is the proposal stage. The bunker program goes to devnet first, then an audit, then mainnet. The key lab on this site works today and runs an educational one-time signature implementation in your browser.
Are quantum computers a real threat?
Not today. But a large enough one could recover private keys from public keys on Solana, and every public key is already on-chain. Bunkers are for people who'd rather move early than late.
What if I lose my secret?
The bunker stays closed. There's no reset and no admin key. Back your secret up the way you'd back up a seed phrase.
Why is a key one-time?
Each Winternitz signature reveals part of the key. Multiple signatures compromise the one-time assumption and can enable forgery. So every unlock rotates to a fresh key automatically.
Is there a token?
If and when there is, the only official contract address will be on our home page and our published documentation. Anything else using our name is not ours.
